wait wait..
i don't get it..
so why did it behave differently when it is observed?
or why did the results differ from what it's suppose to be? |

I don't know the electron one before. I still don't understand it.
Does it behave as waves?
like light? |

The answer is both...
Electron behave like both particle and wave at the same time!!!
so if all the electrons have some wave properties, why dont we observe them at macroscopic scale? (by that I mean why dont we, human beings, look like waves). um, the short answer is that when you put many waves together, they seem to cancel out their wave properties under most general situations.
Ok, so the mystery about observation.. nobody knows why. All we can do right know is to put this experimental fact as an assumption in our mathematical theory of quantum mechanics.. and u know what? it works 100% all the time for 70 years or more... There are a lot of guesses about why when we make observations, everything behave differently, but so far, no one has come up with a good enough explanation to satisfy everyone.
As Feynman said, "nobody really understands quantum mechanics".
Albert Einstein hated it, because it's so weird.. yet it's so real.
Ultimately, we want to understand it all.. but not much luck for over a couple of decades already |

Is it true?
Did anyone try to slower the speed of electrons of hitting the wall?
Then, will the electron behave like a particle? |

ai.. finally have time to answer questions!!
first, no, it's not about the speed of electrons.
In fact, if you watch the video again, they told u that they shoot "one electron at a time", so there's no way if you can shoot one at a time unless you do it slowly. Remember electrons are really tiny object, you cant control their motion unless you slow them down!
Second, the wave pattern for the light experiment is obtained in one run of the experiment; whereas the wave pattern for the electron experiment is obtained over many runs of experiment. So in the case of electrons, the wave pattern is a statistical nature.
Third, both the particle and wave nature of electrons are observed in various experiments. I shall try to find some visual illustrations online |
